Sarah M. Gates, Matthew H. Grady and Nicole A. Palmer Become Associated with LL&A

Cambridge, MA, September 21, 2005 – Lowrie, Lando and Anastasi, LLP (LL&A) today announced that Matthew Grady, and Nicole Palmer have become associated with the firm, and that Sarah Gates (nee Hudson) has become an Associate of the firm.

Mr. Grady was previously a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts.  He has a background in software systems and architecture.  “We are delighted to be able to include Matt’s expertise among the firm’s resources,” said Tom Sullivan, LL&A’s hiring partner.  “Our software patent procurement, counseling, and litigation practices have grown rapidly, and with the addition of Matt to the LL&A team, we have expanded our ability to fully meet the needs of our clients in these areas,” he added.

Matt is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He graduated from Suffolk University School of Law, cum laude, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Duke University, and is pursuing a Masters degree in computer science from Boston University.  Before entering the field of intellectual property law, Mr. Grady spent more than ten years working as a computer consultant and IS Engineer.

Ms. Palmer was previously a Summer Associate at LL&A.  She has a background in chemical engineering and chemistry.  “We are excited to have Nicole as part of our team,” said Sullivan.  “With the growth we are experiencing in our chemical and litigation practices, Nicole has arrived at a great time for LL&A and its clients, and she will be a terrific asset to both,” he added.

Nicole graduated from Franklin Pierce Law Center, magna cum laude, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of IDEA:  The Journal of Law and Technology, and she received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Nicole’s prior experience includes conducting research involving drug delivery techniquest, pharmacokinetics, cell growth systems and surface modifications for biomedical devices.

Ms. Gates was previously a 5th year Technology Specialist at LL&A.  She has extensive expertise in electrical engineering, including electromagnetics, antennas and communication systems. Sarah also has work experience as a hardware engineer, participating in both product design and technical support.

Sarah graduated from Suffolk University School of Law, magna cum laude, and received a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in electrical engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and a Master of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
