Health Insurance
LL&A pays the full premium for individual health insurance coverage for eligible employees under the Blue Cross and Blue Shield HMO Blue New England Value Plus plan. Employees who choose family coverage pay only the difference in premiums between individual and family coverage, on a pre-tax basis. Eligible employees who opt out of LL&A’s health insurance plan because they are covered by other insurance are paid an opt-out incentive.
Dental Insurance
LL&A pays the full premium for individual dental coverage for eligible employees under the Delta Dental plan. Employees who choose family coverage pay only the difference in premiums between individual and family coverage, on a pre-tax basis.
Life Insurance
We provide Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance through Reliance Standard Life, equal to two times an employee's annual base compensation, up to a maximum of $250,000. The premium for this insurance coverage is paid in full by LL&A.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
LL&A offers short-term and long-term disability insurance coverage through Reliance Standard Life. Short-term disability pays 66.66% of weekly compensation up to $1500 per week. Long-term disability provides 60% of monthly compensation up to a maximum of $10,000 per month. The premium for both short- and long-term disability insurance coverage is paid in full by LL&A.
Paid Leave
Paid Leave may be used by an employee for sick, personal time or vacation. Depending on FLSA status, LL&A employees accrue paid leave monthly at the rate of 20 or 25 days per calendar year. Accrual of Paid Leave is pro-rated for employees with part-time schedules.
Retirement
LL&A’s 401(k) Plan is administered through the American Bar Association Members Retirement Program. Eligible employees may participate in the Plan after completion of one month of service at LL&A. Since 2004, LL&A has provided an employer contribution to each eligible employee equal to 3% of the employee’s gross compensation, including base wages, overtime and any bonuses the employee may have earned.
Employee Referral Program
Any non-exempt LL&A staff member who refers a candidate to a benefits-eligible LL&A staff position may be eligible for a referral bonus of up to $1500.
